About[]

Yoru ga Kuru! -Square of the Moon- is a role playing game-visual novel hybrid in the same vein as the Pastel Chime series. A remastered version of the game will be released in Japan on April 19, 2024, featuring upscaled graphics, newly recorded audio, and a number of optional quality-of-life and balance changes.

Because the game's original CD was playable in a CD player, the game was never given a standalone, original sound track release[1]. The remaster will be given an OST exclusive to the hardcopy release.

The player spends the day forming bonds with school friends during daily life and spends the night wandering dungeons defeating monsters. Like the Pastel Chime series, the player only has a limited amount of time to explore dungeons before they are forced to leave, meaning time management is critical to success.

Story[]

Three years before the start of the game, a second moon appeared above the earth at night, its origins a complete mystery. Several attempts were made at investigating this strange celestial occurrence, but none were successful. Over time, humanity adjusted itself to the second moon and continued living as normal.

In the present day, Ryo Homura, an ordinary young man who lives on his own has a strange dream where he is running from a ghostly pale man with unnatural movements in the middle of the night. At the end of the dream, he sees the figure of a woman, most of her features obscured by the darkness, but her eyes shining as red as flames.

The next morning, Ryo encounters a girl who looks remarkably similar to the one from his dream attending his school. She introduces herself as Izumi Kagura, and informs him that his dream had actually happened in real life, and that the man who was chasing him had been corrupted by a group known as the Light Hunters, who use the power of the second moon to amplify the negative emotions within people to turn them into monsters. Ryo then learns from Izumi that he is one of the few people born with the power to defeat these creatures, and is asked to join the Kasha, an organization made up of similarly gifted people led by Izumi. As if possessed by fate, Ryo immediately agrees without thinking, beginning an adventure that would change his life and the lives of those around him forever.
