Most of the original Rance 02's errors were fixed by the English release, but there were a few remaining problems, especially in Kai. This patch fixes all the problems I could find.

Both Versions[]
- Originally, you had to exit B2 by moving west, a relic of the original Rance II. Rance 02 added stairs to the north, but forgot to update the movement code. These patches move the exit to the north, to finally match the art.
- An unused map graphic exists for the Stone Guardian floor with the prison capsules destroyed, but it is never used by either version. This unused map is now available in both.
- Typos and minor text changes.
Rance 02 Only[]
- After investigating the Scream Rooms, Sill would permanently stop saying they are locked. This is misleading, so the alternate description was removed, as in Kai.
Rance 02 Kai Only[]
- Rance 02 starts in Mouse Controls mode. If you switch to Keyboard Controls mode, there's supposed to be a button to switch back to Mouse Controls, which naturally reads "Mouse Controls." But for some reason, the "Keyboard Controls" button was re-used here by mistake and the button effectively never changes. It's been swapped back toggle between "Mouse Controls" and "Keyboard Controls" as intended.
- Renamed the fake Aphrodisiac from the B1 gangster's gag items to the Red Perfume, to match the real item from B4.
- If you searched the lake after finding the Carrot Key, Sill was supposed to give the lake a new description, mentioning how it's dried up. This check was incorrectly coded and the description skipped, but has now been fixed.
- The Bar now properly charges you money for food in Chapter 2/4, just like it does in Chapter 1 and Rance 02. For some reason, it was only charging you for the mandatory uhaan.
- In Rance02, if you ask Arcy about every topic, you could give her another Sweet to ask her about her hobbies. In Kai, this dialogue was updated, but the "Hobbies" topic never appeared due to an error. This has been fixed.
- In Rance02, the NE corner of the B3 map changes after the scene in the Heart, but the Kai version was incorrectly coded and the room never changes. Fixed.
- Fixed one remaining mention of "Energy Drugs" from Rance02.
- While in the attic, the party icon actually appears in the attic, like in Rance02, instead of being flung on top of the roof, possibly related to the next error.
- The player can no longer start a fight in Shizuka's attic, as in Rance02. It seems the devs wanted to give the room a special background graphic (or possibly to give you a battle on the roof?), but it was never completed, and caused a graphical error instead!
Kai 1.1 Update[]
- Included all the fixes from the official, Alicesoft, Rance 02 1.01 patch, which I had mistakenly assumed were already included in Kai. See the Rance 02 Versions page for more details.
