The-O Man and not Theoman[]

As per AliceSoft material (image is available at the bottom of the page) the name should be spelled The-O Man (even if the katakana doesn't contain any prolongation mark/hyphen). Please contact me if a later released official material actually updates it to "Theoman". Gahahahahahahaha!!!! 17:10, January 17, 2013 (UTC)

The current translator has Arios's last name as Theoman not The-O Man. Which is why I changed it.

Well, in a franchise, translator's interpretation < officially released spelling when available. 10 people could very well make 10 translations with 10 different pronouciations - who to follow then? For sake of argument (you may have noticed such an instance in the Rance Quest discussion thread on HongFire), while translators are free to interpret a certain name however they want in their own project, in a public article like this, in case of conflicting opinions it's best to follow known official namings from official materials unless later acknowledged by official staff as a mispelling on their part (be it due to their lack of understanding or English or any other reason). Names could be changed to help familarize users who are using some form English translation in the absence of official English spellings though. But when the English name as provided by AliceSoft is present in the article page itself, please take note of it first.
In fact, since you're going out of your way to specifically just work on changing namings, don't limit yourself to translation projects - it's better to try and research whether the name you're giving is really more correct than the one in place, and reason for renaming should preferably not be limited to just an existing translation patch. Point is, a potential "naming war" among contributors in future is a big DO NOT WANT, so priority for standardizing namings (so as to resolve conflicting opinions) should be: #1) official spelling first, then #2) translation patches if official naming not available, after that #3) just your interpretation if the article doesn't exist at all, but in 3rd case don't override other's opinion with yours just because; discuss naming in talk pages first (or just contact me in HongFire or here) and we can work out what to use.
P.S. - If possible (that is if you know him personally enough to request it), try and get Ludo to show up. :P He seems to have access to many official materials so that could help decisively name people. Gahahahahahahaha!!!! 10:48, January 18, 2013 (UTC)
