This is the walkthrough for Rance VI Chapter 5.

Event Screen[]

  • After the extended scene, you will arrive in your new Event Screen. Sure enough, your party has been reduced to Rance, Sill, and Caloria. You should probably stick with the main plot for the time being, but if you need to grind for orbs, you can adventure in Autumn Forest, Noctun Mine, or Haniwa Plain (maybe you have to have unlocked the mines and plains earlier?).
    • Tamenegi's events remain available, even though he isn't in the party.
    • A special event will allow you access to the Red Coupon store, its wares are the same.
  • Check all the starred events, including the one for Kimchi that shows up part-way through. Then see "Check headquarters again." You will get a new mission at the Zethan Capital.

Maze: Zethan Capital, Part 2[]

  • Buy two green keys before leaving for this mission.
  • King Gandhi joins you here. Warning : He only joins you when you enter the dungeon and will leave permanently at a latter stage, so do not give any equipment as you cannot unequip them from him in the dungeon.
    • Move him to the front row, he has a powerful punch attack and has a lot of HP.
  • Even this isn't your last trip to this dungeon, and you still can't map it completely. You will lose access again after you're done.
  • Head forward to the green star. Kaoru will rejoin the party.
    • She will temporarily leave again a few dungeons from now, but will be back soon after and is otherwise staying in the party to the end of the game. You may wish to return to camp to upgrade her equipment first.
    • Note that you cannot H Kaoru again until the post-game, restricting her max level and usefulness.
  • From this point on, you may start encountering the "Archfriend." This boss appears randomly, and will only stay to fight for a certain period of time: 1 turn for every time you've encountered it. This means that its first encounter will only last 1 turn, its second will last 2 turns, and so on. You won't have a chance of beating it yet, but keep up the encounters and you might eventually land a kill. Beat it for an achievement-style "stamp" in your CG collection.
    • The Archfriend will only appear in Chapter 5+ dungeons, and only if you have 5+ party members in your current party. It has a 1 in 100 odds of appearing for every random encounter you meet under these conditions.
  • Head west and enter the Hanny Building.
  • The first door on the ground level leads to a dead end but can be used for mapping progress.
  • Head up the stairs to the second floor.
  • The room on the second floor has 3000g. Head up to the third floor.
  • On the third floor, get the green star.
  • Get a second green star in the room. There will be a fixed fight.
    • 2 Low-Rank Magic Soldiers
    • 1 Mid-Rank Magic Soldier
    • 1 High-Rank Magic Soldier
    • 1 Low-Rank Magic Soldier
  • Go up to the roof, it has 8 AA.
  • Go back down to the third floor and cross the causeway .
  • Take the elevator to the fifth floor first.
  • There is a Glass Art in the SW room here.
  • Get the green star and go through the door.
  • Continue till you reach the green star with Kaoru. This will activate a checkpoint at the door to the previous building and you can escape to restore SP. You will restart here when you re-enter the dungeon.
  • Backtrack to the elevator and go to the third floor.
  • There is a coupon fight in the SE room.
    • 2 Super Hannies
    • 1 Red Hanny
    • 3 Green Hannies
    • Give Sill and Calorie Hanny Zippos. Give Rance the Hanny breaking permit. Focus on killing the Super Hannies. Make sure Gandhi is in the front row so that he can use his punch.
  • Escape and then head forward to where Kaoru's green star was.
  • You can attempt to go east, the way is blocked by a red cloud, but this fight cannot be won normally.

    • Even if you somehow manage to win, you simply retreat and there is no event scene.
  • Go west, there will be a boss fight inside.

  • There is a Preservant Wasabi past the green door.
  • Explore the other other room and you will end up on Floor -5.
  • The east room has 8 AA.
  • Head down the stairs till you find a green door and boss fight.

      • Protective Marimo
    • Boss Fight
      • 2 Green Monster Soldiers
      • 1 Monster General
      • 2 Ropers
      • 1 Blue Monster Soldier
      • All enemies will be buffed with ATK, DEF, MAG and RES up at the start of the battle.
  • Head outside, there will be another boss fight.
    • Dark Rance
  • Enter the next building, Abert will rejoin the party.
    • This is your last chance to remove items from him as he will leave permanently after this mission.
    • This is another checkpoint, you won't be able to return to the start from this area. Make sure you have gotten everything you wanted before entering this building.
  • All the doors here are locked except for the one leading NE.
  • There is a boss fight inside the NE building.
    • Camilla
      • She is invulnerable, withdraw as many of your party members so that you can lose the battle quicker.
    • This will end the mission

Autumn Forest : Cherry Blossoms[]

  • You will now have access to your previous roster.
  • Do the "Pass through the cherry blossoms" event.
  • Go to Autumn Forest, this is your only chance to do the sections in the Hanny Mint as the fence will be restored after the mission is complete.
  • You need to pair Rance with a major female character (and nobody else) in the party.
    • Prima, Megadeth and Cessna do not count as major characters and pairing them with Rance will not work.
  • Once you have formed the party, step onto the arrow tiles and you will be moved forward to a green star. Each green star will trigger a random encounter of low level monsters drawn from the Autumn Forest random encounters.
  • If your party composition is valid, you will pass the trial and can proceed, otherwise you will be kicked to a side alley and be forced to restart.
    • You need to fail each trial on purpose if you want to get 100% mapping progress.
      • At the 3rd trial, you will need to change the party composition in battle to fail it on purpose.
    • Changing party composition in battle will fail the trial and changing it between battles will fail the next trial.
    • There are unique scenes for each major female member for passing through the trials, you may wish to do the trials with different party members to see their lines.
    • If a party member runs out of SP, the scene where they leave the party will overwrite the trial event scene and prevent you from seeing it.
      • Copandon only has 4 SP, so it is impossible to see her 4th and final trial scene unless you use Viagro to restore her SP or raise her SP via FR bonuses.
    • There is a unique CG for Rance and Sill at the second trial.
    • At the end, you will arrive at a clearing with a last green star and the door to the mint.
      • The last green star leads to a scene that differs whether Rance is alone or is with a major female party member. Minor female party members are treated as if Rance is alone.
    • Enter the mint.
      • The right door has 10,000g.
      • The middle door has 4050g
      • The left door leads to an exit and the green star ending the mission. You need to map the exit before ending the mission.
      • You get 15,000g for ending the mission.
    • Make sure to map the exit before you touch the star!
    • Touch the green star to end the mission (15,000g).

Maze: Calculator Cube[]

  • If Sill's storyline events are complete, and if she has her A-Rank weapon, the event "Calculator Cube dream" will appear. This allows her to obtain her S-Rank Weapon.
    • This will not count as an official mission.
  • Only Rance and Sill can go here. There are actually other characters with Calculator Cube missions, but only one can be active at a time. You can only visit the dungeon while one of these routes is open, and after the last such route, you won't be able to return here.
  • When you select the dungeon on the deployment screen, actually read its description, as it gives you a crucial hint: the number 41. Do the same with all future Calculator Cube dungeons.
  • The maze consists of four domino puzzles in each corner of the map, along with several vaults containing the character specific weapon.
  • The domino puzzles can be solved by stepping on the correct tiles to add up to 41 (the hint given at the map screen).
    • All the tiles summed up adds up to 45, so you can get the correct number by either avoiding tiles 4 or tiles 1 + 3.
    • If you step on the same tile twice or get the number wrong, you will be teleported to the center of the maze.
    • To map all the domino tiles, you will need to deliberately step on the same tile twice per puzzle as you can only map a maximum of 8 tiles the first time round.
    • You can also map each stair.
    • Solving the puzzle will cause you to be teleported to the center of the map and the corner with the puzzle will be blocked off.
    • The puzzles will reset if you escape and come back, so all four must be solved in one go.
  • Focus on mapping as much of the map as possible first before solving the puzzles.
  • Once all puzzles are solved, go to the vault in the west corner of the map to get the green star which will teleport you out. Make sure to map the vault fully before touching the star.

Maze: Sunday Tower[]

  • Floor 30
    • The first room has an FR event for Kanami.
    • Head up to Floor 31.
  • Floor 31
    • There is a green star with Shizuka here.
    • The first room has an FR event for Patton.
    • Head into the western hallway.
    • Head south for a Moja Doll.
    • Head south again for a Personal Nurse.
    • Go west for 8 AA.
    • Backtrack to the western hallway, head north for mapping progress then up to Floor 32.
  • Floor 32
    • There is a green star here.
    • Take the second northern door for 2500g.
    • Take the first northern door for 8 AA and head outside.
    • Once you are outside, the western side of the map has 1200g.
    • There is also a boss fight on the northern side of the map.

    • The western door on the balcony leads to the stairs to Floor 33.
  • Floor 33
    • The northern blue door has 8 AA.
    • The SE red door has 1000g.
    • The SW door has 1500g.
    • The eastern door leads up to Floor 34.
  • Floor 34
    • The SW red door has a Gutsy Pouch.
    • There is a boss fight on the west side infront of the stairs to the 35th floor.
      • 2 Green Monster Soldiers

    • The north door contains 50g (probably a bug)
  • Floor 35
    • The western path is blocked by arrow tiles, you have to go east.
    • The eastern room contains a Magic Tomato.
    • There is a green star in the SE corner.
    • The SE room has 8 AA.
    • The SW room has a Present.
    • There is a green star infront of the stairs leading to the 36th floor.
  • Floor 36
    • There is a scripted fight against Nagi after you go up the stairs. It only lasts two rounds and there is no difference whether you win or lose.
    • Re-adjust your party ater the battle.
    • Head back to Floor 35 and grab the green star.
    • Walk back to the stairs that lead to the 36th floor.
    • There will be a boss fight after you go up the stairs.
      • 2 Sturdy Meat Shields
      • 1 Wall Guy
      • 2 Mid-Rank Magic Soldiers
      • Nagi, can use controlled earthquake without charging
      • 6 Meat Shields
      • The mission will be finished after the boss fight.
  • After the mission, Shizuka's max FR will increase by 5.
    • Shizuka's Call will be available after this, this is a h-scene and you may want to save it for after she hits her max level.
  • At any point after this, visit Autumn Forest, Haniwa Plain, or possibly other dungeons when not on a mission to see a scene as soon as the dungeon begins. This scene will boost Shizuka's FR by 1.

      • Before going down, follow the hallway till you get to a coupon fight.

  • Basement 2
    • Head south for an FR event with Rizna.
    • Go west to reach the stairs to the third basement level
  • Basement 3
    • Theres a chest in the first room with 1350g
    • Follow the path to the stairs to the fourth basement level
  • Basement 4
    • To fully map the place, you will need to ignore Kaoru's instructions.
    • First room
      • There is a Present here.
      • South Door proceeds.
      • East door has a pit trap, dropping you to basement 5 part 1, in a corridor on the east side.
      • West door has a pit trap, dropping you to basement 5part 1 , in a room with a portal that leads to the stairs for floor 3 to floor 4.
    • Second room
      • West door proceeds.
      • South and east doors drops you into Basement 5 part 2, in a room with two coupon fights
    • Third room
      • There is 8 AA and an FR event for Shizuka here.
      • West door proceeds.
      • South and north doors drop you into the western side of Basement 5 part 2.
    • Fourth room
      • Coupon fight
        • 3 Green Monster Soldiers
        • 2 Blue Monster Soldiers
        • 1 Monster Captain
      • West door proceeds
      • North door drops you into a room with a Victory Band.
      • South door drops you into a path with 1450g and 8 AA.
    • Fifth room
      • The way is blocked by a boss fight
        • Dark Rance
      • There is a chest with 1350g here.
      • North door proceeds.
      • West and south doors drop you into the SW side of basement 5.
    • Sixth room
      • There is an FR event for Caloria here.
      • The southern bridge proceeds.
      • The northern bridge will drop you down to basement 5.
      • After this room, there will be a timed boss fight (5 turns).
        • Apostle Abert
        • You only have Rance, make sure he is healed up before the fight.
        • The scene after the fight is the same whether you win or the time runs out.
        • Re-arrange your party after the fight and head back up to basement 4.
    • Seventh room
      • The eastern bridge proceeds
      • The western bridge drops you to basement 5.
      • There is a flame ring on the other side.
      • The green star will end the mission.
  • Basement 5 part 1
    • Use the first east door pit trap on level 4 to get here.
    • The north path is a dead end.
    • The western path has a barrier, it leads to a room with a portal that leads back to the floor 3 to 4 stairs. The barrier is one way only.
    • Go west to find an FR event for Patton.
    • Go west for 8 AA.
    • The rest is a dead end.
  • Basement 5 part 2
    • Both the south and east doors in room 2 lead here.
    • West coupon fight
      • 3 Snake Ladies
      • 2 Contes
      • 1 Monster Captain
    • East coupon fight
      • 3 Himmlers
      • 2 Rommels
      • 1 Goebbels
    • Take the path out of this room.
    • The north fork leads to the portal room.
    • Head SW for 1550g and a dead end.

Maze: Disposal Dungeon[]

  • You never lose access to this dungeon.
  • The upper levels contain no monsters.
  • The church has 10 AA.
  • There is a tour guide in the first room and some event scenes in the upper rooms.
  • There is a Spinspin Amusement Park to the west, it also contains an FR event for Caloria.
  • Head North to find Sel next to the disposal chute, she will eventually drop Chaos down the chute by accident.
    • There is a love consultation room here if you want to see some event scenes.
  • Head back to the tour guide and get the dungeon key, then head north to unlock the door.
  • The tiles with acid will damage your party if you step on them.
  • On the north side, there are two fake walls that you can break down, they are marked as green doors on the minimap.
    • The western wall leads to 16 AA.
    • The eastern wall leads to 8 AA and an eagle orb.
  • Take the east stairs for a Viagro and Eagle orb.
  • Follow the path and take the north stairs leading down to find a C Armor Bun L and a Posion Manga Meat.
  • Keep heading north to find a green star with Kushiipan.
    • Spiritual items are left, physical items are right.
    • Picking a path will seal the passage behind you, but you can escape and come back for the other paths.
  • Head right to find chaos.
    • Rare items are right, Legendary items are left
  • Head left to find chaos.
    • Map the exit and touch the green star to get Chaos and finish the mission.
    • Rance will get his S-Rank weapon upgrade.
  • You can now do an event to add Sel to the party. Rance will kick someone out to make space.
    • Sel has green stars in each church now, this will eventaully allow you to get her S-Rank weapon via an event.
    • The list of churches are Haniwa Plains, Disposal Dungeon, 3rd Test Site (behind the green door), Autumn Forest and Italia.
      • The Italia church is not required in the manga gamer version.
  • Head back to the disposal dungeon.
  • There are FR events for Sel in the church and Spinspin amusement park now.
  • Head north past the locked door into the disposal area, then get the green star for Sel.
  • Go back to where Kushiipan was, this time head right and right again to get Rocky's S-Rank weapon. Exit.
  • Head back to Kushiipan and this time go left and right for a boss fight.
    • 3 Dragon Knights
    • 1 Con Turtle
  • If you take the Spiritual - Courage path, Starlevel will increase the talent caps of everyone in the party by 1, up to level 50.
    • If the character was already at level 49, Rance's H event will level them up to 51 instead.
  • Sure, you could proceed with the plot, but the Disposal Dungeon has way too much good stuff for you to just pass on. Let's head back. Stop of at the church for Sel on your way in, and grab an FR event for her in Spinspin Amusement park. Grab a second once you're inside the dungeon.
  • Head to the retrieval area and take whichever path you want!
    • Physical -> Rare: Rocky's S-Rank weapon. Only available if he already has his A-Rank weapon.
    • Spiritual -> Despair: Prepare for a nasty fight here. The prize is an HCG and some plot resolution.

  • Time for the final mission. Once again, this is your last chance to do certain events.
  • Select "Contact large enemy force for the final battle." Once you select this "dungeon" from the list, Urza will force her way into your party, so you may want to use Exchange Party Members to leave a gap for her, or else Rance will throw someone out on his own.
    • Once you click the mobilize button, you won't be allowed to go back to any other screens.
  • This is a text and combat mission.
  • First fight
    • 2 Red Monsters
    • 1 Monster Captain
    • 2 Monster Mages
    • You will be presented with a choice to help the ally squad or not after. The event text is different but you will still fight the same enemies.
  • Second fight
    • Hugant
    • ice Hugant
  • Third fight
    • 1 Angel Knight
    • Seizel (Fire), 70k hp and 3.3k ATK, deals ice damage, can hit a row without charging
    • This fight is timed. The event text after is the same regardless of whether you win or run out of time.
    • After this, selecting to chase Seizel will trigger the fourth fight
  • Fourth fight
    • 2 Angel Knights
    • You can use this battle to capture an angel knight.
    • This battle repeats infinitely, select "stop here" to progress with the plot instead.
  • Fifth fight
    • 1 Red Monster Soldier
    • 1 Hugant
    • 1 Z'Kappa
    • 1 Monster Mage
    • 3 Green Monster Soldiers
    • 1 Monster General
    • The Hugant takes up 4 spaces on the battlefield, you may want to kill him last to limit the number of enemies on the field.
  • Sixth fight
    • 2 Red Monster Soldiers
    • 1 Green Monster Soldier
    • 2 Blue Monster Soldiers
    • 1 Monster Mage
