Rachel Mamarella was Border Galois' partner in the Toushin Tournament, the newest in a long and embarassing line, who served in the year Seed Cashima participated. A childhood friend and the only person still willing to stand in the dangerous role after his repeat failures, Rachel was fairly similar to Border in terms of personality: brash, friendly, and somewhat overt when flirting. Despite their similarities, they had very different impressions of Border's drinking habits.
After Border was defeated in the semi-final round by Billnas, Rachel was forced to endure a year of indentured servitude to the mayor of Toushin City, Apros. What she initially did in that role is unknown, but she was eventually transfered to the newly appointed Toushin Seed Cashima as a "comfort woman," meant to serve as one of his targets during his sexually violent "regressions" due to his Angel Eater mediciation. Due to his condition at the time, he did not recognize her.
Rachel was presumably freed after the end of the events of Toushin Toshi II.
