During the events of Kaeru nyo Panyo~n, Poron Chao was transformed into a rabbit-like creature called a Panyon. In this form, he lost most of his physical capabilities, most notably his movement speed, which was essentially floored. While still capable of speech and his existing skills in Divine Magic, he became nearly incapable of self-defence.
Almost all other information about panyons comes from unreliable sources. Poron is told that panyons come from another world, governed by different rules than the Planner Scenario. Level Gods existed in that world, but operate under different rules, most notably able to offer class changes as well as level ups. Class change items can be "purchased" with the right "materials" - Gal Monsters - and Poron's new level god Yamane claims to be restricted by a complicated system of hints and riddles. Even though Poron was the one who can call Yamane, panyons themselves are not able to change classes. Poron is also told that panyon attract monsters as a matter of course, and sure enough, huge numbers of monsters dogged his return trip to the Parancho Kingdom. Yamane also claims that panyons can explode when angry. Which of these elements are true however, if any, is unclear.
During Poron's journey, it is possible to come to several bizarre locations filled with garish blocks and orb-like snake decorations, and bizarre doodled decor. At the end of one such stage (Stage N), the party raises the possibility that this might be the Panyon world.
