Don't worry too much about them but take it into account.

He's a gangly, sick-looking guy. This Youth League must all be trash if this weakling is their leader.

About[]

Kiseda Espira was the leader of the Youth Brigade, a community organization designed to protect and maintain the peace of Toushin City. However, as all of the strongest fighters in the city had been killed while exploring the depths of Toushin Toshi Upsilon, the Youth Brigade was composed entirely of weaklings and was largely useless.

In Rance IV, he was responsible for informing Rance about the history of Toushin Toshi Upsilon throughout the game, and was also occasionally bullied into giving him the Youth Brigade's monthly budget to use as spending money. Due to being weak and cowardly, he and his men contributed little else throughout the game, even hiding when the city was invaded by monsters.

He is confirmed to have not survived the crashing of Upsilon, likely due to being too weak to sustain the damage done by the fall.

Personality and Appearance[]

Kiseda was known for being incredibly thin and emaciated-looking, with sunken-in eyes that made him appear to be skeletal and on the verge of death at all times. Rance claimed that he "projects an aura of total weakness", which seems accurate despite coming from a person notorious for exaggerating the flaws of others.

He was a meek and mild-mannered young man that easily submitted to Rance the second he asserted his dominance over him, offering him leadership over the Youth Brigade almost instantly. He also seemed to get incredibly nervous when talking to women, and became a stuttering mess when Rance brought Sill with him inside the Youth Brigade's headquarters.

Abilities[]

While the Youth Brigade was made up entirely of weaklings with minimal fighting ability, Kiseda, despite being the leader, was very likely the weakest of them all. With a Level Cap of only 1 and no skill levels to speak of, he was the closest a person could come to having no potential whatsoever. He also appeared to be naturally weak and sickly, reducing his already pathetic combat ability even further.

He was also shown to be a largely ineffectual leader, with the Youth Brigade accomplishing almost nothing before Rance took control over it. However, Kiseda actually appeared to be the most competent leader of the known members of the Youth Brigade, being able to at the very least organize meetings and have conversations with other people while his teammate Kaneo spent most of his time hiding behind him and could only timidly speak a few words to others before returning to hiding. This says more about the general lack of talent in the Youth Brigade than anything about Kiseda's abilities, however.

His sole positive quality appears to have been that he was quite knowledgeable about the history and functions of Toushin Toshi Upsilon, providing the majority of information on it to Rance during the early parts of Rance IV and seemingly knowing much more about it than anyone else in the city.

Trivia[]

  • With a level cap of 1 and no skills, he is the weakest character to have ever appeared in the series, with other similarly talentless characters possessing at least a slightly higher cap or some kind of skill level.
