About[]

Kichikuou Rance has 2 types of character menus:

  • Generals
  • Harem

Many of the generals are also available in the harem, but sometimes the conditions to be added to one menu or the other aren't exactly the same. For instance, to get Sill as a Harem character, you must rescue her in Volgo Z before the time limit, but for her to be available as a General, you have to select her in the Harem.

A number of characters are mutually exclusive, such as the Rolex and Aristoles combo vs Patton, Hunty, Freak and Hubert. Only in 2 cases, however, does the menu actually uses the same slot for 2 different mutually exclusive generals. These are:

  • Carfeknight and Cafe
  • Kaiju Prince and Hanny King

Cost of adding new troops[]

See this General Stats talk page to see base costs of each unit before this section is completed.

Adding new troops to a unit will cost a certain amount of gold. Generally speaking, the type of unit influences the amount of base cost with some exceptions.

Each time you 'add more' troops when doing a recruit action, you triple the cost, but only double the number of troops to be added.

So if the original 25 troops costs 50 gold, then 'adding more' will give you the option to buy 50 troops for 150 gold, 100 troops for 450 gold, etc. This might still be worth considering for some particularly cheap units like the thieves, but is much less advisable for high cost units like mages, who should just be given small amounts of troops each turn.

Furthermore, the base cost increases each month that passes. Every 4 weeks will increase the base cost of any troop types by 100K. This increase takes place on the 4th week of each month. For example, on LP3, Month 3, Week 4, Rance's base cost is 11300K, while on LP6, Month 4, Week 4, it will be 15000K.

1 Patton's skill will cause enemies to directly hurt his HP while he damages the enemy troops. This skill is potentially useful in dungeons if his troop count is low.

Bug commander[]

  • In the bottom right of the Subordinates/Deployment menus, (to the right of Cecil) , there's an invisible 51st commander slot that can be interacted with.
  • The slot can only be interacted with after you've used a Ninja, the T2 Goliath, a Capsule Kaiju, or seen a scripted battle with the Hornet faction.
  • It cannot lose in defensive battles because it does not die, but after being used once, it cannot be used until the conditions are met again.
    Conversely, it can be used any number of times as long as the conditions are met. It is recommended to use it permanently with the Tange Dog item.
  • If you use a Capsule Kaiju, it will have the same ability value as the Kaiju you used. Maximum attack power 20 and number of attacks 2000.
    The ability does not change until the next Capsule Kaiju is used, so once you reach the maximum ability, it is better not to use the Capsule Kaiju anymore.
    Ninjas are coded to deal exactly 1 damage when they attack, making them the least ideal choice for the bug commander, unless you're trying to snipe an enemy commander with low HP.
  • The bug commander appears because there are 51 selectable commander slots in the menu, and the temporary commanders do not have their data cleared after being used, except when they're used by the player as the bug coomander. The japanese error text seen when you try to interact with the bug commander is caused by there not being a Talk event coded for that slot. Once you've used up your Subordinate actions, you can click the slot to see the commander's current stats. The existence of the bug commander is an avoidable oversight, as there are 52 commander slots in the game's code. Slot 52 is completely unused and has no selection code in the Subordinates menu. If AliceSoft had coded all of the temporary commanders into slot 52 instead of 51, there would be no bug commander at all.
