Gazel-portrait

Gaizel's portrait in Rance 02.

Gaizel Gode is the mayor of the town of Kathtom. He's a weak man with fragile health and spends most of his time bedridden as a result. Despite this he is a competent mayor, maintaining order in Kathtom even after the Four Witches of Kathtom sealed the town and made it impossible for the townspeople to leave.

He's usually a composed and rational man, being well-informed about the different matters of the town and its citizens. He was the one who put out the request for adventurers to aid the town when the incident with the Four Witches took place. Despite his abilities as a Mayor he's not good at negotiating, losing much of the town's funds in hiring Rance. Strangely, he seems to have talent as a musician, since he carries a Music Lv1 skill, though he is never seen playing an instrument.

Gazel-face

Gaizel loses all of his normal composure when his daughter is involved.

Gaizel has a daugther named Chisa Gode who is his greatest love and greatest weakness. While he can keep a calm demeanor most of the time, he's extremely protective of his daughter's safety and is easily panicked if he suspects any danger is upon her.

After the events of Rance 02 he apparently retired due to his poor health and most of the town's affairs are now handled by his daughter or others in administrative roles, such as Eleanor Ran.
