Asakura Yoshikage is the lord of the Asai-Asakura house and the father of Yukihime. He is a serious but kind man, that wants the best for his daughter. Originally he was part of a minor house, but he eventually managed to merge with a stronger power in the area, The Asai House, after that the Asai-Asakura House was formed. He purposefully avoids fighting and preferred to settle things with diplomacy. The goal of the Asai-Asuka house was to bloodlessly unify JAPAN trough merging with other houses. He also described all wars as being "useless". However, after Yukihime was sent for negotiations with the Oda House, Rance managed to squeeze her boobs, making Yoshikage retract his statement. He felt disrespected and shortly after declared war on the Oda house for Yukihime's sake.
