What are Spoilers?

Spoilers are pieces of information that could potentially reveal important elements of the plot that certain individuals might prefer to remain oblivious about in order to fully enjoy the original material.

Due to the fact that this is an online encyclopedia, many pages have spoilers. The idea is to warn the players about these potential spoilers by adding Warning Templates at the top to prevent people that might prefer to avoid reading this revealing information.

Sliding Scale of Spoilers

Technically speaking, every detail of the plot or character is a spoiler by itself. The key is to differentiate how relevant these spoilers are to the plot. A random Hanny dancing for a second and that doesn't appear again is hardly an important spoiler. The death of a major character is a major spoiler.

In order to grant readers with an idea of how big the spoilers of a certain article are, there are different templates to include at the top. All pages that detail about a character, a piece of lore, or any information that might be related to the plot should have one of the following:

Major Spoilers

Major-Spoiler-Template

This is the template that should appear in a page that contains major spoilers that could potentially ruin someone's experience, as the articles reveals vital elements of the plot. The death of a major character or a ground-breaking plot-twist are good examples of this.

This template should be added at the very top and the template is called "Spoilers-A".

Minor Spoilers

Minor-Spoiler-Template

This is the template that should appear in a page that contains minor spoilers over the events of a game. These are spoilers that don't really harm the experience of the player and only those that wish to deprive themselves from absolutely all information should deny reading this article. The majority of characters pages that aren't major would fit into this.

This template should be added at the very top and the template is called "Spoilers-B".

No Spoilers

No-Spoiler-Template

This is the template that should appear in a page that possesses no spoilers whatsoever, or the spoilers it carries are so irrelevant it hardly matters at all. Most of the pages related to places, setting and lore are good examples of these.

This template should be added at the very top and the template is called "Spoilers-C".

Rules about Spoilers

  • Do not post false or unconfirmed information and label it as spoiler.
  • Barring a few exceptions like Gamaplay-focused pages, all articles should have one of the previously mentioned Templates.
  • No matter how common knowledge an event or a plot-twist because of the fame of the game, if it's a major event of the game, it should still be regarded as a Major Spoiler.
  • Older games or characters from such games should be treated the same as the newest game.
  • Wether the information handed comes from an untranslated title or not is irrelevant.
